Muscular Dystrophy Canada

Muscular Dystrophy Canada’s dedicated volunteers and staff across the country raise funds and work hard to support the independence and full participation of Canadians with neuromuscular disorders, fund research to find a cure and improve the quality of life of people with neuromuscular disorders, assist our clients to participate in the decisions that affect them, and collaborate with others for social change. Thanks to the generosity of our donors, we are able to make a real difference in the lives of people affected by muscular dystrophy.

Pipes and Drums

In 2016, The Edmonton Firefighters Pipes & Drums was formed. We have been recruiting both active and retired EFFU Members to learn their how to play the Pipes and Drums.

In September of 2017 we were proud to have played a tune at the 100yr celebration of our Union. This was our first of many events in the years to come.

We were established to honour and represent the past, present and future members of the Edmonton Fire Rescue Service, its members and families, I.A.F.F Local 209, The City of Edmonton, The Province of Alberta, Canada and beyond, Including other fire services and first responder members and families both locally and nationally, by providing Scottish highland Pipes and Drums music. To provide emotional support and solace to the family and friends of fellow firefighters who have lost their lives in the line of duty; foster good will towards to the Edmonton Fire Rescue Services, the Edmonton Firefighters’ Union and the City of Edmonton, its citizens and beyond; provide dignity, honour and pride to Edmonton Fire Rescue Services through ceremonies and functions while building and maintaining the tradition and spirit of the firefighter.

If you have any questions or concerns, or would like to commit to the Pipes and Drums, please contact us at info@effpipesdrums.ca or visit our website at effpipesdrums.ca
